The term Orthopaedic surgery or orthopaedics (sometimes spelled orthopedic surgery and orthopedics) refers to the branch of surgery dealing with conditions of the musculoskeletal system. Orthopaedic surgeons use both surgical and nonsurgical methods to treat sports injuries, musculoskeletal trauma, tumors, degenerative diseases, infections and congenital disorders.
